The substance attacks organ, muscle, and nerve tissue on contact. It is not exactly deadly in and of itself, but it will lead to necrosis if untreated, a condition where the body’s cells rot and die. It’s not a pleasant picture or sensation. While the toxin will sting painfully on contact, it can take anywhere from two to twelve hours for the full effects to set in, before which the toxin can usually be washed/flushed from the victim’s system, minimizing damage. Some scarring, even from short exposures, should be expected. The toxin obviously does not affect Honor, at least, not in an overt way. However, her immune system is somewhat compromised; she get sick more often and more seriously than the average teenage girl. gender ♦ female sexuality ♦ questioning, and unsure it matters the appearance face claim ♦ amalie schmidt height and weight ♦ 5’9” and 121 lbs identifying features ♦ none overall appearance ♦ Honor dresses very conservatively in an attempt to cover all possible skin and avoid touch. Even on the hottest days she can be found in long sleeves, thick leggings under her uniform. She wears latex gloves under cotton fashion gloves. She looks uncomfortably warm most of the time, and it is not uncommon to see beads of sweat on her forehead. She moves with the perfect posture her parents trained into her, but will sometimes be sighted (always alone, always when she thinks no one is watching) hunched over, hugging herself. the personality likes ♦ solitude computers new books on her kindle rain and storms the colors green and gray dislikes ♦ being touched being looked at being treated as fragile paper eating, especially foods meant to be eaten with one’s hands animals with fur or feathers yelling or screaming of any kind gloves perfect posture warm clothing strengths ♦ perfect etiquette high intelligence weaknesses ♦ difficulty relating to other sheltered self-loathing dreams ♦ suppressing her power completely making friends finding her sister finding a purpose fears ♦ intimacy touch herself overall personality ♦ Honor honestly believes she is unworthy of love, friendship, or compassion because of her power. She views the poison dripping from her as a reflection of the bitter, evil person she is inside. And she is bitter. She is tired of having to constantly control her every thought and emotion. She is tired of being the good girl, always having the perfect manners. Honor hates her life, lonely life that it is. Under her carefully trained control, she is a young woman on the verge of collapse. the history father ♦ James Beaumont Oswald II, 53 mother ♦ Antoinette (Anne) Clara Oswald, 50 siblings ♦ Dorian Edgar Oswald, 22<br>Rowen Marcella Oswald, 19 hometown ♦ Aspen Springs, Colorado overall history ♦ Being born to wealth and privilege is not enough to constitute a happy childhood. From the very start, Honor was groomed to be the little girl her parents could show off at parties. She learned to play piano at the age of four and gave recitals to guests whenever asked. She was dressed impeccably, a little doll. She was constantly jealous of her older sister, Rowen, who escaped notice so often. She was six when Rowen miraculously healed, just a year older when her brother showed powers. Everyone looked at her for special powers, and for awhile, Honor hoped to be magical, too. She didn't know it could go so horribly wrong. She was being disciplined by the nanny when she was seven. It was just a normal thing, until she touched her nanny. Instantly, the woman's skin began to blister and blacken. The nanny screamed. That's when Honor knew she wasn't like her siblings. Tests were done, just as they had been done with Rowen. Honor was in and out of the hospital most of the year. But unlike Rowen, there was no hope she would better society. No, all the research was to see what cures there might be. An antidote was found, finally. Finally. That was the main reason that she was allowed in Primrose and not exiled to the asylum or Phalanx home. By the time she was in school, Rowen had disgraced herself to the family. Her parents' love was uncertain at best, and Honor didn't dare test it by looking for her older sister. Instead she moved through school like a ghost, learning to suppress her powers. the role player alias ♦ abyss age ♦ 24 pronouns ♦ she/her code ♦ ADMIN EDIT other characters ♦ none |
