He came from a large family consisting of his parents, three brothers, and three sisters. Both parents had been one hundred percent polish, and wanted to move to the United States to give their children a better life, Otto being the youngest at the time. His family had immigrated to the big apple when he was four years old, and his parents struggled immensely with trying to provide for their family. However, their new life in the states was better than the one they had in their home country, where they had to share a large room with two other families. The Starzyks were not only very poor, but came from a line of extremely peculiar people. They were a family of shapeshifters, and soon Otto himself would learn of his ability that was pasted down through the generations. As Otto started grade school, his parents ended up having two more children, his sisters Claudia and Rebecca. Otto was very protective over them, once he was told he was no longer the baby in the house. For the most part, the Starzyks had a decent childhood, one with loving parents and warm holidays, once Otto’s older brothers started working in their teens. They did so in order to help their father with the finances. Unfortunately, the good times did not last for Otto’s family, and one day while he and his siblings were at school their parents had gotten into a terrible car crash. It had been a hit and run, and the incident had been all over the news. Otto’s parents had been sent to the hospital in critical condition and died upon arrival. Social services became involved, and the children were taken out of school only to hear that their entire world was changed. A few weeks after the funeral, Otto and his siblings were placed into foster care, along with having to attend frequent therapy sessions. The children were separated. Otto and his brothers were placed with a middle aged couple, who treated them fairly for the most part, but they conventional people and forced their views on the Starzyk boys. Around this time, bizarre things began to occur, and in moments where he was angry, afraid, or upset Otto would change into his golden eagle form. This happened countless times, where he was punished for not engaging in prayer meals, or if he was jealous over his brothers for receiving more of an allowance than him. One night while his brothers were out with friends, Otto had been sent to his room for saying that he hated his foster father, and so he transformed into a golden eagle and flew out the window. He wasn’t sure where his brothers had gone, so he decided to play in the garage just to be free of his foster parents demands. Little did Otto know that his father needed tools for his car’s engine, and in that moment the garage door flew open. Startled, Otto transformed once again and this time his father had seen the change occur. In that moment, Otto’s father had grabbed one of the metal shovels from the wall and slapped him over the head with it. Otto dropped to the floor, unconscious as his father panicked, and grabbed a can of lighter fluid and lit the eagle on fire. The agonizing pain woke him after a few minutes, and Otto was once again back in his human body screaming and thrashing on the ground. Shocked, his father ran back into the house and called the police. By the time the police arrived, his brother’s were finally home, and they had found their younger brother and told the officers what had happened. Otto was then taken to the hospital in critical condition. A few months later, the boys had been removed from the home, and their foster father was arrested. Months after the burn incident and an excruciating recovery, Otto and his siblings had been relocated by a recruiter of Phalanx Home, who had gotten word of the abuse that took place. While at Phalanx Home, Otto learned how to control his shifting instead of allowing his emotions to get in the way. His brothers did so as well, and for the first time in a long time they felt at home. By the time he was nineteen, Otto had full control over his shape shifting abilities. He attended college and received his masters in psychology. During this time, he met Veronica Tomlinson, who he dated and eventually married once they were together for five years. A year after they had married, Otto’s wife had died in child birth, and blessed him with a baby boy. Otto named his son Klaus, and did his best to provide a calm home life for his boy as a single parent. Now, still residing in New Orleans, Otto simply works and takes care of his son. the role player alias ♦ Jason or Jay age ♦ 21 pronouns ♦ he/him code ♦ Admin Edit other characters ♦ nada |
