lara akira baldi the basics full name ♦ Lara Akira Baldi nicknames ♦ Traveller, some "monks" call her that way because of her power. age ♦ twenty birthday ♦ 1 April 1996 occupation ♦ technically, she is a thief, but she only steals historic items from people who have stolen them first or people who don't deserve what they have. Lara thinks that historic relics belong to museums so that people and researchers can observe such items. That's because history belongs to everyone so she thinks that relics that tell such history must belong to everyone too. school ♦ she was homeschooled. species ♦ human ability/power ♦ Uhhm...Lara doesn't even know if this thing has a name, but she can "enter" in books. how the ability works ♦ She can enter into books, thus ending up in the book's story itself. The book changes itself if Lara modifies the story in any way, but only the book that she uses. She can bring things and people out from the book and into reality. However, she gets weaker everytime she gets something out of the books. Just taking out one character could take all her energy away. Instead, she can take out more than one thing from the books, but it is still dangerous and it depends on what she has to do in the book to gain such items. In fact, if she hurts herself in the book then she would be still hurt when she comes out from the book. Being in the book itself can make her weaker too. At first she thought that she just dreamed, that she just imagined to be in the books that she reads, but she found out the truth when she woke up with a Mad Hatter's tea cup in her hand and Alice's in Wonderland novel in front of her. The Carroll's novel that Lara owned, had some pages changed according to what Lara believed she did in a dream and the tea cup was a tangible proof...the copy of the novel that Lara owned said at some point: ...and the Stranger woke up in her room, returning where she belonged to, but bringing back with her a souvenir. Lara haven't told anyone about her power and she manages to control it by just not reading. However, she can't always control her power, sometimes she ends up in books involuntarily. One time she ended up in the hospital after escaping from a book because she was too exhausted. Also, Lara enter in the books physically meaning that she would "disappear" from where she is in order to enter the book. Killing her while she is in a book is pretty easy: just burn the book while she is in there. That's why she uses her power only when she is alone. gender ♦ she/her, female sexuality ♦ hetero the appearance face claim ♦ Meisa Kuroki height and weight ♦ 1.65 m, 55 kg identifying features ♦ none...for now overall appearance ♦ Lara is very slim because she takes care of herself by jogging and doing gymnastics. Also, she trains because you need to do it when you're a thief. She has a strong stamina, meaning that she can run a lot before becoming tired, that's because she does jogging everyday. However, she is not that strong so a stronger man could easily knock her out. Sure, she knows how to defend herself, but it isn't that useful against a man like Hulk. Anyway, Lara is well aware of her beauty and the effects that it has on some people, so she uses her fine appearance to manipulate. She doesn't wear too much make up. She has almond brown eyes and an overall Japanese look, that's because of her mother. the personality likes ♦ adventures; her power; being a thief; reading; drinking Espresso. dislikes ♦ rich people who use their money to buy what they shouldn't buy; tomb raiders who keep relics to themselves or sell such relics to selfish rich people; corrupted cops and "henchmen" 'cause they are after her; her attraction to the wrong people...or characters. strengths ♦ her stealing abilities and skills; her power. weaknesses ♦ the fatigue that comes with her power; her conscience that lets enemies live another day so that they keep hunting her 'cause she is no killer. dreams ♦ bring back as many relics as possible. fears ♦ she is afraid to get stuck in a book forever. overall personality ♦ Lara, or Akira, it's the type of person who can be very sarcastic one moment and then being totally serious the next. If she is around people that she doesn't know much then she tends to be quiet and observe, but in reality she likes joking and having fun with her friends. She manipulates people to achieve what she wants. She tends to lie if it's necessary. Lara has a conscience but also the infamous thief's pride. Her parents are good people so she has been influenced by them, in fact she is a good person: for example, she doesn't put innocents in danger during her heists and if that happens then she would stop what she is doing to help such innocent because of the sense of guilty that she would feel. While working, it could seem that she isn't taking things seriously, but in reality that's just a facade that she puts on to make people underestimate her. the history father ♦ Enrico, 55, history professor mother ♦ Akane, 50, archaeologist siblings ♦ none important people ♦ her parents are very important to her, also her uncle is important because he has always been around since Lara was little. Her friends that she works with sometimes are important too. hometown ♦ She was born in Tokyo, Japan; but grew up in Italy and the various places where she ended up because her parents travel a lot due to their job. overall history ♦ Lara had a very happy childhood thanks to her family. Her parents couldn't be always around and she couldn't travel with them when she was little so she lived with her uncle for a while and she was homeschooled by him who was a teacher. Being homeschooled didn't prevent her from making friends because she lived in a neighborhood filled with families. Everything seemed perfect, she also made beautiful vivid dreams about the books she read, but one day she found out that her dreams weren't dreams. One morning, she "woke up" with a tea cup in her hand and the page of the book she was reading had changed and she knew it because she had already read Alice's in Wonderland so she knew how the book was supposed to be. At first, Lara couldn't believe that she could enter in books. She genuinely thought that there was something wrong with her head, but then she decided to test her theory. So, she thought about a plan that involved the novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Lara had to read the book five times before she "started dreaming". That was it, one moment she was reading and the next she was like dreaming about the book. Although, it wasn't really like dreaming, but she didn't know a better term for it. It was better than a vivid dream...it was like being there for real...and that was the case, but she still believed that she was dreaming. Lara kept going with the plan so she bought the chocolate bar with the golden ticket destined to Charlie then she waited. At some point she was in her room again...she couldn't even explain how it had happened. One moment was in the book and the next she wasn't anymore. She felt tired though. However, Lara looked at her hand and opened her eyes wide in surprise when she saw the golden ticket in her hand. Then she read the book and saw that it was completely changed, it had a bad ending because Wonka hadn't found the right heir. Time passed after experimenting with her power and she had already understood it better at eighteen years old. That age is very important because it was when she could start travelling with her parents. She visited archaeologic sites in various part of the world, but it was in Egypt that she met one of her father's colleagues. The colleague's name was Warner and Lara witnessed the moment of his capture, cops had arrested him for selling relics to private collectors, it was illegal because those relics were destined to museums. That was when Lara decided to protect relics from people like Werner. Her parents were very passionate about history and relics so they managed to make their daughter very passionate too. Lara swore to herself that she would bring back relics in museums. Lara understood that the only way to have those relics back was by stealing them back. Although, she didn't know where to learn how to be a thief. That was when her power turned out useful again. She started meeting famous thieves in books and she managed to learn from them. But, Lara should be more careful when she used her power. One night she didn't manage to get out from the book at the right time so she got exhausted after leaving. It had to be something serious because Lara woke up in the hospital the next day. Her parents told her that she had passed out, but that everything was fine now. Lara started stealing two months after that incident when she was back in Italy so she could travel by herself. During her travels, she had met some people that could help with...her job. These people were useful and helped her steal the first relic from an Italian rich guy. The next day, an Italian museum had one more item to show. Lara keeps stealing relics to bring them back, but things don't always go smoothly. the role player alias ♦ Lara age ♦ 22 pronouns ♦ she/her code ♦ ADMIN EDIT other characters ♦ // |
