Greens in her care grow larger and faster, produce bigger flowers, are more potent, and live much longer lives. It is a harder process during the colder months, when it takes much more energy to bring life in the chilly air but during the spring and summer her fingers are tinged green from how much time she spends in the garden. gender ♦ cis female sexuality ♦ heterosexual the appearance face claim ♦ Maisie Richardson-Sellers height and weight ♦ 5'7, 140 pounds identifying features ♦ heart-shaped birthmark on her hand, fingertips are typically green overall appearance ♦ Adelina's features takes after the rest of the women in her family: brown eyes on a heart-shaped face and a mess of unruly black hair. On the taller side, she has a fair amount of muscle that comes along with many years of unloading boxes of nick-nacks at the shop. Easy to smile, Addie's got a sunny face that makes a pokerface difficult and extremely hard for her to lie. Comfortable in flowy dresses and tops, she's not one to try to tame her wardrobe or her hair. the personality likes ♦ being outside, sunlight, the smell of rain, gardening, springtime, a good bar, voodoo dislikes ♦ winter, boredom, unseasoned food, cement cities, hangovers strengths ♦ a very good salesperson, charming, good cook weaknesses ♦ can't focus when cold dreams ♦ to be renowned in the New Orleans community as an expert herbalists fears ♦ claustrophobic when surrounded by large buildings overall personality ♦ Addie can be described as someone with a sunny disposition: it takes a great deal to dampen her mood. She had always been a bright child, always trying to make everyone around her smile and enjoy their time and that is something she has carried into her adult life. With a love to be the center of attention and the flair of a good salesman, Addie adores walking into a bar and turning heads, good conversation a close second. Patient and very nurturing, she loves goofing around with her many cousins and spends as much time with her family as in her greenhouse. the history father ♦ n/a mother ♦ Anne Marie Richelieu (Mama Ri), seer/tarot card reader at Mystic Tea Leaves siblings ♦ _____ Richelieu, half-sister, student at Phalanx Home, seer like their mother important people ♦ A very long list of aunts and uncles floating around New Orleans hometown ♦ NOLA overall history ♦ The Richelieu family holds their extensive history in New Orleans with pride. Back when the city was still under French control and little more than a backwater port for pirates the original Mama Ri, a free black woman from Haiti fell in with an up-and-coming merchant from Paris. It was common back then for white men of privilege to keep women of color as their mistresses, the women living in luxury and owning land of their own. Mama Ri gave the man seven Creole kids before being discovered by the wife. The woman lured Mama Ri to the house and murdered her before killing herself. Stories say that the two ghosts haunt the building still standing on Royal Street. Through the line the family kept the story alive and continued cultivating the special talents of their children, a long family line of herbalists. Adelina was born in New Orleans to the current Mama Ri, the matriarch of the Richelieu family not long after an affair with a handsome man in the city for business. Her mother declared that little Addie was her "most precious flower, a May Day gift." The girl grew up playing around the shop, welcoming tourists, helping entice them with little tricks of voodoo and to see the Mama Ri or help them pick out the "potions" they needed while at night her mother taught her the real arts of the family. They were cultivators of the earth, those that helped the plants poke their head out of the cold winter soil and nurtured the buds and the flowers of spring and used their potent energy for various oils and concoctions for others in their unique community. She attended Phalanx Home until Katrina hit New Orleans and nearly massacred the city that her family had been calling home for three centuries. Her mother took Addie and her younger sister to live with family in Chicago, a move that the girl never took to. She hated the cold, bleak city that blocked out the sun and unnatural parks of poisoned trees. Mama Ri took up Adelina's training, determined to pass on all she knew to help brighten her may day flower's mood. Their small apartment was green everywhere, potted plants and herbs in every corner and every rafter possible. After a few years Mama Ri moved back down to NOLA to set up the family shop again while Addie took care of her sister that summer and the two moved back that following September. Never returning to Phalanx Home, her sister _____ now was attending and Addie worked in the shop with her mother, creating both potions for the tourists but also for those in actual need of special services of real earth mother voodoo. the role player alias ♦ tiff age ♦ twenty-four pronouns ♦ sheeeeeeeee code ♦ admin edit other characters ♦ @tiffh77 and @rebekah |
