Bonnie LeBlanc the basics full name ♦ Bonnie Rose LeBlanc nicknames ♦ None age ♦ Nineteen birthday ♦ September 12, 1996 occupation ♦ Student school ♦ Primrose Academy ability/power ♦ Shapeshifter species ♦ shapeshifter (Great horned owl) how the ability works ♦ Like all of the women on her mother's side of the family, Bonnie is a shapeshifter with the ability to transform into a bird. In her case, this bird is a great horned owl. While in the shape of the owl, Bonnie retains her own memories, personality, and human cognition, but is unable to communicate with human speech. Her nocturnal nature is a reflection of the animal that she can transform into, and she will often spend her nights in her owl form when she is able. She has a reasonable command of her owl form, but is not well-versed in long-distance flight or in any kind of attacks or hunting as an owl. She finds it uncomfortable to remain an owl for longer than 3 hours, and describes the sensation of remaining in her owl form longer than that as resembling a mild muscle cramp that grows in severity over time. This ability first became apparent to her when she was 14 years old, and going through puberty. gender ♦ Female sexuality ♦ bisexual the appearance face claim ♦ Rachel Hurd-Wood height and weight ♦ 5'4" and 125 lbs identifying features ♦ a tattoo of a dove on her right shoulder blade. overall appearance ♦ Bonnie has a very understated style in terms of the way she dresses. She sticks to a very small selection of clothing colors: black, grey, slate blue, navy blue, olive green, and dusty pink. She dresses well and takes care of her clothes but dresses very simply, sticking to shift dresses, or comfortable shirts with a nice skirt or pair of pants. She prefers slightly more classic and solid styles over high fashion or trends. She does nothing to her hair other than shampooing and conditioning it, and lets it style itself in its natural texture. She wears minimal makeup and varies her look rarely, with the exception of lipstick. She plays with a wide spectrum of lip colors depending on her mood, but never leaves home without some kind of lipstick on. She is not dramatic or striking necessarily, but she is put-together and pleasant to look at. the personality likes ♦ -birds -smoking -cappuccinos -girls with curly hair -guys with tattoos -live music -warm rain dislikes ♦ -drinking (alcohol) -being put under pressure -people who fold down the corners of book pages -cold weather -big dogs strengths ♦ -very intelligent and well-read -very generous toward her friends weaknesses ♦ -Over-thinker -Bad at problem-solving -Cracks under pressure -Extremely contrary and surly toward most authority figures (ex. her parents). dreams ♦ She loves music, but has absolutely no musical talent. Therefore, she'd love to someday open and manage a club where the best of the best musicians woud perform. She doesn't want to follow in her father's footsteps of managing or controlling the music, she just wants to give it a place to grow, breathe, and come alive. She wants to live in New Orleans, or eventually somewhere on the West Coast. fears ♦ Being trapped, turning out like her mother, losing her sense of self. overall personality ♦ While she is a person with great capacity to love, and a great willingness to do so, Bonnie has a great deal of repressed resentment and rage. She was denied a lot of opportunity to socialize with other children before the age of 14, and this left her somewhat socially awkward at times. Even though she has gotten much better at hiding it, she becomes very nervous and self-conscious around large groups of her peers. She is not a very big talker, and will say what she needs to say but no more than that. She is obsessed with art and creativity as a whole, but does not consider herself a creative person. This gives her something of a love/hate relationship with creative people, as she admires them greatly but is very jealous of their talents. She is an empathetic person, and hates to see another in pain. She will always help someone in need, although she expresses herself in small ways rather than grand gestures. She expresses her affection and her care in very subtle ways, which can lead to her coming off as slightly colder than she really is. She has a good sense of humor, though she isn't quick to joke herself. The worst thing anyone can do is micromanage her or attempt to control her behavior. She has a lot of baggage toward authority figures due to her upbringing, and quickly becomes stubborn and irritable at the first sign of someone telling her how to live. the history father ♦ Phillip LeBlanc, 50, owner of a Jazz record label mother ♦ Colette Richard-LeBlanc, 45, Heiress (from very very old plantation money) siblings ♦ None important people ♦ Her aunt, Marie LeBlanc, a small scale jazz singer. hometown ♦ Baton Rouge, Louisiana overall history ♦ Bonnie was born on September 12, 1996 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to the newly married Phillip LeBlanc and Colette Richard-LeBlanc. Rumors circulated around the time of their pregnancy announcement, from those who had done the math, about whether or not the marriage was due to Colette's unplanned pregnancy. But whatever the reason for the marriage, it was a deliriously happy one, made all the more happy with the arrival of their newborn daughter. Bonnie's mother and father lived in her mother's family estate, paid for by generations of well-established plantation money and savvy business work. However, when Bonnie was four years old, the family moved to New Orleans in order for Phillip to be closer to the ever-fertile music scene present there. Bonnie's mother obliged out of love for her husband, but did not take the move well. She left behind her family home, and all of her friends. As a result, she began to place all of her attention on her growing daughter, often to the point of smothering. While Bonnie's father was establishing himself as a tycoon of the music industry, her mother was grooming her to be a debutante befitting of the family name. Colette homeschooled her, keeping her largely isolated from the outside world. Bonnie lived in a world of pristine dresses and etiquette lessons, and resented her mother for all of it from the time she was old enough to comprehend the situation. She knew, on a certain level, that her mother loved her. However, it felt as though she loved herself and her family legacy just a bit more. By the time Bonnie was 12, a rift of sorts had been formed between her and her parents. She loved them out of childish obligation, but resented them both. She resented her mother for her constant control and micromanagement, and she resented her father for never being around to divert her mother's attention. Her only solace was in the visits from her aunt Marie, her father's free-spirited younger sister. Marie worked as a jazz singer, and would tell Bonnie stories of the musicians, the concerts, and the thrills of performing. Bonnie mimicked Marie as much as she could, even sneaking the occasional cigarette that she could convince her aunt to smuggle her. Unfortunately, these visits were cut short after Bonnie turned 14. At age 14, Bonnie's shapeshifting ability began to manifest itself. Its first appearance was extremely alarming to the young Bonnie, who, while sitting in the parlor of her home one afternoon, began to feel her skin itch. She scratched it nonchalantly, and felt a strange sensation against her fingers. Upon looking down, she found the entirety of her visible skin to be covered with feathers. However, just as she began to panic and wish the feathers away, they vanished. Her mother later explained to her that all of the women in the Richard family were shapeshifters, and that they could take the form of a bird at will. With barely enough time to process this, her parents packed her up and shipped her off to Primrose Academy, where she could be among other unusual young people while still living within the class-specific boundaries her mother was so very attached to. the role player alias ♦ Lace age ♦ 20 pronouns ♦ she/her code ♦ Admin Edit other characters ♦ if any |
