Delilah needed to know about them and she felt sick keeping a secret from her best friend. Evan sat on her bed and watched her best friend sleep in the bed next to hers. She took in a few deep breaths and tried to allow the snores of her best friend to soothe her nerves. Delilah’s two-toned hair was matted up on her pillow, her arms haphazardly flopped around her head, and Evan knew that she had no closer friend in the world. What best friend wouldn’t want to potentially have their best friend part of the family? She knew that Delilah would freak out, but she had to tell her.
“Dell?” She asked, moving from her bed to Delilah’s. She was sure that the brunette got in only a few hours before, there was a welcome back to Primrose party that Evan skipped out on so she could spend time with Aden. It was one of the only parties at Primrose worth going to and she was typically stuck in the middle of it. She was a party queen of the school and she was quickly falling in love with an introvert who preferred Criminal Minds and snuggling to loud music and shots.
“Delly, sweetie are you awake?” She asked knowing full well that she wasn’t. Evan firmly shook her on her shoulder, hoping that she wouldn’t bite her head off for waking her so early. She knew that she had to do this now or she was going to go insane keeping something from her best friend. Delilah meant the world to her, she was her only best friend in this place and she was the one who helped her get through all of these years at Primrose and even gave her a place to feel safe when she couldn’t deal with her home life. Even if the Adkins twins didn’t know about what the Charbonneau home was like, they were people who made sure that she was always taken care of. She couldn’t imagine what her friends would say if they found out about everything, but she would keep the secret for as long as possible.
“Wake up.” She wheedled, hoping that Delilah would even hear it half asleep and be alright with it.
dirty secrets that I keep, does she know it's killing me?
